Bosnian Songs
Bosnian is a South Slavic language spoken in Bosnia, in the region of Sandzak in Serbia and Montenegro and spoken in various places throughout the world. The culture and music of Bosnia includes ancient songs and dances from the country’s Muslim and Christian populations. Bosnian music can be categorized into Classical, traditional, rock, electronic and film music and folk music etc.
Bosnia music is influenced by Turkish music, which can be seen in the popular urban music called sevdalinka. It is a kind of emotional folk song which is a mix of Turkish and Bosnian music, especially Muslim religious melodies called ilahije. In this kind of music there is a vocalist accompanied instruments like the accordion along with snare drums, upright bass, guitars, clarinets or violins. Traditional sevdalinka singers are Kadir Kurtagic, Emina Ahmedhodzic, Hasim Muhamerovic and Muhamed Mesanovic-Hamic.

Bosnian electronic dance music has also been very popular in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the various forms of electronic music are drum’n’bass, trance music, breakbeat and industrial. New generation of electronic music producers in Bosnia includes names such as mental escape, DJ Mika, Narcis Jr. Aka Monophonic, Cycle Six, Chipi and many more.
Hip hop music is very popular throughout the urban public and the credit for this goes to with the famous rapper edo maajka, who is the most popular rapper in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
