Forex trading refers to trading in currencies. Also known as plain FX, using it people can trade in many currencies of the world. One of the world’s largest market, Forex market accounts for no less than USD 3 trillion of trade every day. This is surely an astonishing figure. Those who trade in currency do buying and selling simultaneously. That means traders buy one currency and sell another. World’s major currencies like EURUSD, USDCHF, USDJPY and GBPUSD etc are the commonly traded currencies. The combination of currencies used in buying and selling is known as cross. It could be any combination.

Forex trading is most often than not speculative in nature. That means, traders mostly settle the trade at the end of the day rather than taking any delivery. One of the best features of forex trading is its 24 hours and 5 days per week trading hours. Forex trading is not conducted by any stock market or any central exchange. It is rather done on the interbank market which is also considered as OTC (over the counter) market. One can do forex trading through brokers and sitting anywhere in the world. A forex trader just needs to have a computer and net connection. World’s major forex trading centres are London, New York, Sydney, Frankfurt and Tokyo.

Traders love forex trading because of its liquid nature. By liquidity, we refer to plenty of buyers and sellers available all around the globe. Enough liquidity in the market also helps in price stability. Forex trading also offers a wonderful opportunity of trading without commission. Those who are regular at it swear by this frequent facility. Volatile nature of currencies also helps traders in buying and selling at opportune moments. However, one needs to be aware of global events that might cause huge fluctuation in the rate of the currencies. If a trader has done his homework correctly, forex trading is sure to be quite beneficial.
