Hindi Movies
Hindi movies – a not so popular mode of entertainment a few years back has caught on like wild fire today. The Hollywood industry has been booming for a while now because of two reasons, one the availability of latest technology in movie making. And second, the open society which allowed more people from good families to join the industry. Hindi cinema, now popularly known as “Bollywood” because of its base in Mumbai (earlier known as Bombay) did not have too many people open to the idea of taking up a career in acting or back stage. Also technology was not so easily reachable for them. But now it is tearing out of its seams by being considered the largest in the world in terms of the number of films produced.
The one thing that defines Hindi movies different from the ones made in Hollywood is our ever so melodious songs comprising of an amazingly soothing music married to brilliant lyrics.
Story writers these days draw their inspirations either from Hollywood story lines or from any social issues that need to be addressed or give a work purely for entertainment. Since there is a plethora of actresses and actors in the industry today, producer/directors choose their cast whereas in older times since there were only limited stars, the stars could accept or reject to work on a story.
Since more and more people from respectable families are joining Bollywood both as actors and as the makers, it has become a professional career and courses are being offered in acting and film making. Hindi movies not only comprise of the actors who we see on the screen entertaining each one of us but its soul gets its strength from the story line, production and direction quality, dialogues, lyrics, music and special effects. The quality of Hindi movies has taken us international also. We have submitted nominations for Hindi movies for the “Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film” 43 times since 1957.
Hindi movies have been brought closer to the common man by the investment of companies in malls and swanky movie halls. Though the cost of watching a movie has gone up many folds, so has the comfort and quality. “To get something one needs to give something” – so watch good quality movies in comfort but pay for it. So go enjoy!!
